Account Executive – Outside Sales

Monticello Media and New River Radio Group are seeking dynamic, results-oriented Account Executives to join our talented sales teams. This position is ideal for a motivated professional who enjoys building relationships, generating new business and helping local clients achieve their marketing goals.

Account Executives have access to a comprehensive range of resources, including our market-leading radio stations, Creative Services Department, Digital Services Department and a dedicated team committed to supporting your success.

### Position Summary

Under the direction of the Sales Manager, the Account Executive will sell radio and digital advertising within an assigned territory or account list. The successful candidate will develop a strong understanding of the value, capabilities and positioning of Monticello Media’s Charlottesville stations or New River Radio Group’s Blacksburg-area stations.

The Account Executive will focus on selling integrated advertising solutions that combine local radio, streaming and digital products to address each client’s unique marketing needs.

### Qualifications

– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Strong prospecting and business-development abilities
– At least two years of successful outside-sales experience preferred, with a verifiable track record
– Strong working knowledge of the internet and digital advertising
– Reliable personal transportation
– Valid Virginia driver’s license
– Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet established goals
– Minimum of two years of college; a four-year college degree is preferred

### Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

– Provide consultative marketing services to small, midsize and large businesses
– Prospect for new accounts and identify local businesses that could benefit from our products and services
– Build and maintain strong client relationships
– Schedule appointments, meet with clients, deliver sales presentations and execute contracts
– Develop and follow daily, weekly and monthly sales plans
– Create strategic, integrated marketing plans that address client challenges and objectives
– Assist with writing advertising copy when requested by the client
– Coordinate advertising production and scheduling with the Production and Traffic Departments
– Work with the Promotions and Programming teams to develop promotional opportunities tailored to client needs
– Monitor campaign performance and make recommendations to maximize results
– Meet or exceed established revenue goals
– Collect past-due receivables and work with the Credit Manager to resolve problem accounts
